Our online signup process has three stages:

1. Choose a unique username:

This will be your login name with The River, so your new email address would be "username@theriver.com" (replacing "username" with the name you choose; e.g., "bob@theriver.com").

The new username you choose must be unique and available on our system.

2. Choose a password & provide your account information:

After you select your unique username, we will transfer you to a signup page on our Secure Server. Here, we will ask you to choose a new password, provide your personal account information, and select a billing method.

To protect your privacy, our Secure Server will allow your personal information to be encrypted during transmission from your browser to our server, preventing any chance of unauthorized interception of your data. Click to read The River's Privacy Policy.

3. Configure your computer:

Your new account will be active within one business day. We will contact you by phone when the account is ready to use. At that time, we can also help you configure your computer to use the new account, or you can call us to configure your computer at a time more convenient for you.

Most modern computers already come with pre-installed Internet software for email and Web browsing, so you will not need to obtain any special software from us.
